Einride Integrates NVIDIA Alpamayo Model Into Autonomous Trucks
Einride is partnering with NVIDIA to integrate the Alpamayo Vision Language Action model into its autonomous trucking architecture to improve vehicle reasoning and scene interpretation.
Einride is expanding its strategic partnership with NVIDIA to integrate Alpamayo, a Vision Language Action model, into its autonomous trucking architecture. The Alpamayo model enables vehicles to interpret complex driving scenes, propose specific movements, and provide explanations for the reasoning behind those actions.
Einride intends to be the first trucking company to deploy Alpamayo on the NVIDIA Hyperion platform. The company will use its own proprietary operational data to post-train and distill the model, a process designed to lower development costs and accelerate the deployment of autonomous capabilities across new vehicle types and routes.
The integration will begin with shadow mode testing, where the AI evaluates performance against human drivers and existing software without controlling the vehicle. A live road evaluation is scheduled for the second half of 2027. This initiative follows a September agreement that included the NVIDIA Halos safety system and Blackwell infrastructure.
