Democrat Adrian Boafo Wins Maryland 5th District Seat

Adrian Boafo, a current state delegate, is the projected winner of the election for Maryland's 5th Congressional District. He defeated Republican small business owner Chris Chaffee and independent candidate Mildred Marie Hall to secure the seat.

Boafo will replace Representative Steny Hoyer, who is retiring after representing the district since 1981. The 5th District encompasses all of Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary’s counties, as well as portions of Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties.
