Billionaire Arms Donor Funds Nigel Farage and Reform UK

Christopher Harborne, a billionaire with extensive military industry holdings, provided the majority of funding for Reform UK and a £5 million gift to Nigel Farage.

An investigation has revealed that Christopher Harborne, a billionaire donor with extensive global interests in the arms and military sectors, provides the majority of funding for the Reform UK party and its leader. Harborne is the largest shareholder in QinetiQ, a privatized former UK military research arm, and owns AML Global, a jet fuel supplier that has secured more than $140 million in contracts from the United States Department of Defense.

Harborne has provided two-thirds of the total funding for Reform UK and a £5 million gift to Nigel Farage. The gift to Farage is currently under investigation by the MPs' watchdog. These financial ties coincide with the Reform UK manifesto, which advocates for tax breaks for the UK defense industry and increased defense spending—policies that would directly benefit Harborne's commercial holdings.

A Reform UK spokesperson has denied that these financial arrangements create a conflict of interest. Harborne's lawyers maintain that his commercial interests are unconnected to his political affiliations.
