WPP Retains Coca-Cola Global Account as Omnicom Wins North America
WPP plc retained the global media and creative accounts for The Coca-Cola Company, though Omnicom Group secured the North American media business.
The Coca-Cola Company concluded two separate competitive reviews of its media accounts, resulting in a split of its business between two major advertising firms. WPP plc retained the global media account, as well as the creative, production, and creator marketing business. WPP originally secured this integrated marketing account in 2020, when it was valued at $4 billion.
While WPP maintains the global relationship, Omnicom Group won the media business specifically for North America. This shift redistributes a portion of the beverage giant's regional media strategy to Omnicom.
WPP CEO Cindy Rose stated that the company intends to combine its media scale with Open Intelligence to better understand consumer drivers. She noted that the company's focus is on earning the client's trust every day.
