Jonathan Nez Challenges Eli Crane in Arizona Congressional Rematch

Former Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez is campaigning for Arizona's 2nd Congressional District in a rematch against incumbent U.S. Representative Eli Crane. Nez has centered his platform on the cost of living and the U.S. war with Iran.

Internal polling from the two campaigns shows conflicting results. A GBAO poll for Nez indicates Crane leads by two percentage points, 46% to 44%, while a Peak Insights poll for Crane shows a wider lead of 11 percentage points, 53% to 42%. Nez stated that his campaign has "a lot of momentum" and noted that he is "within the margin of error" despite the slight deficit in the GBAO poll.

Republicans hold a registration advantage in the district, with nearly 40% of voters registered as Republicans compared to 27% for Democrats. Crane previously won the seat in the 2024 election, defeating Nez with approximately 54.5% of the vote.
