Goldman Sachs Trader Predicts Short Window of Credit Stability
Jeffrey Papai of Goldman Sachs reports stable corporate credit markets but warns that the calm will end when AI capital expenditure borrowing resumes.
Investment grade credit sales trader Jeffrey Papai reports that corporate credit markets have remained stable despite a period of volatility driven by bond routs, rate spikes, and contagion from France. Papai attributes this current period of calm to the fact that the market's single largest borrower has temporarily stopped borrowing.
While Papai is currently buying the dip in credit, he warns that this outlook has a limited window. He suggests the stability will likely last for approximately two more months before the AI capital expenditure debt cycle resumes, potentially introducing new volatility into the market.
