Vijai Sardesai Alleges Illegal Nepalese Voters in Goa Rolls

Vijai Sardesai filed a complaint alleging that Nepalese nationals were illegally added to Goa's electoral rolls during a special revision process.

Goa Forward Party chief and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai alleged on Saturday that Nepalese nationals were illegally added to the electoral rolls of Goa during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Sardesai filed a formal complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer, claiming that more than 50 voters were shifted from the Curtorim constituency to Fatorda without any corresponding changes to their addresses.

Sardesai described these irregularities as a deliberate attempt to manipulate electoral records and stated that the discovered cases were merely the tip of the iceberg. He has demanded a state-wide audit, a time-bound investigation, and criminal prosecution for those involved in the manipulation.

These allegations coincide with broader political unrest in the state. The INDIA bloc and the Cockroach Janta Party are currently protesting to demand the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing mass voter deletions and other irregularities during the SIR process.
