Aldi Partners With Deliveroo For UK Grocery Delivery Trial

Aldi UK will launch an on-demand grocery delivery trial in partnership with Deliveroo starting Tuesday, October 6. The service, titled Shop & Deliver, will initially operate across eight select stores in Ashford, Dover, Norwich, Ipswich, Letchworth Garden City, Margate, Strood, and Tamworth.

Under the new model, Deliveroo riders will pick, pack, and deliver approximately 2,000 products directly from stores to customers. Aldi claims its app prices will be lower than any other supermarket offering rapid delivery. The company based this decision on the success of existing partnerships with DoorDash in the United States and Australia.

Chief Executive Officer Giles Hurley stated that the partnership aims to give more people access to Aldi quality and value. Deliveroo Vice President Merchant and Chief Revenue Officer Rob Harris noted that the service provides riders with an optional way to earn outside of peak mealtimes. Following the initial trial, Aldi plans to expand the service nationwide in 2027.
