India Foreign Exchange Reserves Drop to 747.557 Billion Dollars
India's foreign exchange reserves fell by 18.343 billion dollars for the week ending September 25, marking the third consecutive weekly decline.
The Reserve Bank of India reported that the country's foreign exchange reserves decreased by 18.343 billion U.S. dollars for the week ending September 25. This decline brought total reserves to 747.557 billion U.S. dollars and represents the third consecutive weekly drop, following a previous weekly decrease of over 14.8 billion U.S. dollars.
Foreign currency assets saw the largest reduction, dropping by 15.57 billion U.S. dollars to 615.411 billion U.S. dollars. Gold reserves also fell by 2.591 billion U.S. dollars, leaving the total at 108.701 billion U.S. dollars.
Other assets experienced smaller declines. Special drawing rights decreased by 97 million U.S. dollars to 18.642 billion U.S. dollars, while India's position in the International Monetary Fund weakened by 86 million U.S. dollars to 4.804 billion U.S. dollars.
