Cockroach Janta Party Ends Protests After Education Minister Resigns

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) called off a 36-day nationwide protest on July 25, 2026, after the Indian government accepted its demands regarding irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination. The resolution followed the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a central demand of the protesters who had maintained a sit-in at Jantar Mantar since June 20.

Under the agreement, the government will provide honorable compensation to the families of students who committed suicide and withdraw FIRs filed against protesters in New Delhi and BJP-ruled states. Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh served as interlocutors during the negotiations. Both parties agreed to meet in four weeks to discuss a five-point charter for broader reforms in the public examination system.

Earlier on July 25, Rajasthan School Education Minister Madan Dilawar defended the Delhi Police's crackdown on protesters at Jantar Mantar, claiming officers exercised great restraint. Dilawar initially rejected calls for Pradhan's resignation, alleging that the unrest was a conspiracy by the Opposition to create instability and that the protests had been infiltrated by anti-national elements.
