Hacker Group Leaks Records of 41,000 DHS Personnel
The Department of Peace hacker group leaked personal and professional records of over 41,000 U.S. Department of Homeland Security employees and contractors via DDoSecrets.
A hacker group calling itself the Department of Peace leaked the personal and professional records of more than 41,000 U.S. Department of Homeland Security employees and contractors. The data was published by the nonprofit Distributed Denial of Secrets as the Icepick archive and includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, and office locations.
The leak exposes internal organizational structures and the use of sensitive surveillance tools, specifically PenLink for social media and phone analysis and Mobile Fortify for facial recognition. It further reveals the identities of undercover agents within Immigration and Customs Enforcement and provides details on certified undercover operations.
The hackers claim they stole the information from the Department of Homeland Security's Okta login system. However, Okta has denied any breach of its systems. The incident follows recent efforts by the Trump administration to restrict the publication of federal employees' identities.
