The Boeing Company Forecasts 4.9 Trillion Dollar Aviation Services Market
The Boeing Company projects a 4.9 trillion dollar support and services market by 2045 and a need for 2.4 million new aviation professionals.
The Boeing Company projects the commercial aviation support and services market will reach 4.9 trillion dollars by 2045. The company's 20-year outlook forecasts a global requirement for more than 2.4 million new aviation professionals, comprising 1,023,000 cabin crew members, 728,000 maintenance technicians, and 674,000 pilots.
Two-thirds of this workforce demand is intended to replace retiring personnel, while the remaining third will support fleet growth. The Boeing Company expects commercial aviation traffic and demand to double over the next two decades, asserting that near-term disruptions will not impede long-term growth. Regional demand is highest in North America, China, and Eurasia, with Eurasia projected to lead services and support demand at 1.185 trillion dollars.
To address these labor shortages, the company plans to invest in immersive technologies and competency-based training. Executives emphasized the need for digital modernization and workforce development to maintain safety and efficiency as global fleets expand.
