Adani Airport Holdings Rejects Entry Into Airline Business
Arun Bansal, CEO of Adani Airport Holdings Ltd, stated the company will not enter the airline business to avoid competing with its customers.
Arun Bansal, CEO of Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL), announced that the company has no plans to enter the airline business. Speaking at the Aviation India and South Asia 2026 conference, Bansal argued that "it is never a good strategy to compete with your customers".
Bansal distinguished the operations of AAHL from the broader Adani Group, although the parent conglomerate has previously denied reports of interest in the airline sector. AAHL currently manages eight airports, including those in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, and handles approximately 100 million passengers annually.
The company intends to expand its portfolio through airport privatization processes to reach a capacity of 300 million passengers within the next decade. Bansal also noted that renovations for Terminal 1 at Mumbai airport are scheduled for completion in early 2030.
