Babcock & Wilcox signed an agreement with Siemens Energy on August 11, 2026, to produce 20 steam-turbine generator sets. The project will provide 1 gigawatt of power capacity specifically for data center projects, expanding upon a previously announced turbine order.

The partnership aims to address the accelerating demand for large-scale power generation driven by AI data center customers. Chief Technology Officer Brandy Johnson stated that the agreement strengthens the collaboration between the two companies to help customers accelerate project schedules while maintaining reliability and performance.

Following the announcement, Babcock & Wilcox shares rose 34% to $11.91 in premarket trading.
