Flutter Entertainment Pauses Share Buybacks to Cut Costs
Flutter Entertainment CEO Dan Taylor paused the company's share buyback program to prioritize deleveraging and target $500 million in cost savings by 2029.
Dan Taylor, CEO of Flutter Entertainment, announced a pause in the company's share buyback program to prioritize deleveraging and organic investment. The betting giant is targeting an additional $500 million in cost savings by 2029 to stabilize its financial position.
This strategic shift follows a reduction in the full-year core profit forecast for the fifth consecutive quarter. The decline was driven by a weak conclusion to 2025 and ongoing challenges within the United States market.
Taylor outlined four primary objectives for the company: maintaining leadership in the United States, entering the prediction market sector, increasing value from non-US portfolios, and simplifying the operating model. He stated that delivering against these priorities will require "faster execution, tough decisions and disciplined investment."
