U.S. Oil and Gas Rig Count Holds Steady at 588

Baker Hughes reports the U.S. active oil and gas rig count remained unchanged at 588, despite regional shifts and a decline in Canada.

The U.S. active oil and gas rig count remained unchanged last week, holding steady at 588 rigs. According to the latest report from Baker Hughes, the national total stayed flat despite several regional fluctuations across the country.

The Permian basin experienced an increase of three rigs, bringing its total to 263. This growth was offset by decreases in other areas, as the Granite Wash and Marcellus regions each lost one rig, falling to 19 and 24 respectively.

While the United States maintained a stable count, the energy sector in Canada saw a decline. Canada's active rig count decreased by three, resulting in a total of 216 active rigs.
