Biman Bangladesh Airlines Orders 10 Airbus Aircraft

Biman Bangladesh Airlines signed an agreement with Airbus to purchase 10 wide-body and narrow-body aircraft to modernize its fleet.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines signed an agreement with Airbus on Wednesday to purchase 10 aircraft as part of a broader effort to expand and modernize its fleet. The deal includes four wide-body A350-900 long-haul aircraft and six narrow-body A321neo medium-haul jets.

The signing ceremony, titled "Spreading Our Wings Together," took place at a hotel in Dhaka. The event was attended by Bangladesh's Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat, government officials, and representatives from the European Union and several European nations.

This acquisition follows a recent order by the airline for 11 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX aircraft. The new Airbus A350-900 models are 25 percent more fuel-efficient with a range of approximately 18,000km, while the A321neo series provides a range of up to 7,500km.
