IRGC Strikes U.S. Radar Facilities in Kuwait

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched a series of strikes on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, targeting United States military radar and communications facilities in Kuwait. The IRGC designated these attacks as the 24th wave of Operation Nasr- (Victory) 2, a retaliatory campaign intended to disable regional radar systems supporting U.S. operations.

Specific targets included an early-warning radar and a tactical radar complex near Ali al-Salem Airbase, a radar system on Bubiyan Island, and air defense assets at Ahmad al-Jaber Airbase. The strikes at Ahmad al-Jaber targeted a Patriot air defense system and an FPS-117 radar. The IRGC stated that these systems were rendered inoperable.

Iran characterized the operation as a response to U.S. violations of Iranian territory and the illegal escorting of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. These attacks occurred despite a Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding aimed at ending aggression in the region.
