2 Sisters Food Group is proposing a restructuring exercise at its Rogerstone ready-meals factory in Newport, South Wales. The plan is expected to result in job cuts for approximately 5% of the workforce, which equates to roughly 80 positions among the facility's 1,600 employees. The site is operated through the company's RF Brookes business.

Company leadership stated the move follows a £20 million investment and aims to drive efficiencies. While the company did not provide specific details on the restructuring, reports from the South Wales Argus indicate the site has struggled financially due to rising costs impacting ready-meal orders.

These proposals come despite 2 Sisters reporting an increase in turnover to £2.38 billion and a rise in pre-tax profit to £108.3 million last year. The company has a history of recent closures in Wales, including a poultry factory in Llangefni in 2023.
