Corendon and Turkish Airlines Cut Flight Networks for 2027

Turkish carriers are scaling back international operations in preparation for 2027, citing geopolitical instability and rising costs. Corendon Airlines will reduce its United Kingdom airport network by half for the summer 2027 season, withdrawing all flights to London Gatwick, Birmingham, and Newcastle. The leisure carrier will consolidate its services to Antalya from only three airports: London Stansted, Manchester, and Glasgow.

UK country manager Matthew Carpenter attributed the cuts to a difficult trading year driven by the conflict in Iran, geopolitical uncertainty, and rising fuel costs. The airline also ended several aircraft agreements, resulting in a smaller overall fleet. Carpenter described the move as a short-term reaction and stated the company will review trading conditions in January with the intent to re-introduce axed routes once oil prices stabilize.

Simultaneously, Turkish Airlines has permanently removed 11 destinations from its future schedules. These cuts include five African cities—Juba, Kinshasa, Libreville, Luanda, and Lusaka—as well as destinations in Denmark, Germany, Uzbekistan, Iraq, and Kazakhstan. While some routes to Cuba, Jordan, and Iran are delayed, they remain part of the airline's long-term plans.
