Ukraine Produces 25,000 Ground Drones for Combat and Logistics

Ukraine produced 25,000 unmanned ground vehicles in early 2026 to handle casualty evacuations, ammunition transport, and combat assaults against Russian forces.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported the production of 25,000 unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) during the first half of 2026, more than doubling the output from the previous year. These battery-operated robots are being deployed across the front lines to perform high-stakes missions that minimize human casualties, including logistics, combat assaults, and the evacuation of wounded soldiers from kill zones.

Specialized units are utilizing these drones for diverse tactical operations. Units use UGVs to transport food and ammunition, retrieve fallen aerial drones, and surround Russian troops. Other units have used the technology to flush out enemy forces or accept surrenders.

Russia has responded by deploying its own Courier logistics system and developing similar technology. Ukrainian soldiers report that Russian forces are directly copying Ukrainian drone designs to keep pace with these developments.
