ExxonMobil Suspends Liza Unity Operations After Small Fire
ExxonMobil Guyana Ltd. temporarily halted operations at the Liza Unity FPSO vessel following a small fire in a laundry room off the coast of Guyana.
ExxonMobil Guyana Ltd. temporarily suspended operations at the Liza Unity floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel off the coast of Guyana after a small fire broke out in a laundry room. Heat detectors in the living quarters triggered the safety response, and crew members extinguished the fire quickly.
All personnel aboard the vessel are safe and accounted for. The temporary halt disrupted crude offloading from the vessel, which produces approximately 250,000 barrels of the Stabroek Block's total daily output of over 900,000 barrels.
Company officials stated that operations were suspended as part of an established safety response and will resume once necessary safety checks are completed.
