Armenia Moves to Implement TRIPP Infrastructure Project
Armenia is coordinating with the United States to launch the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity project to develop regional transport and energy links.
The Government of Armenia is pursuing the immediate implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative to develop regional infrastructure. Following the National Assembly's ratification of a strategic cooperation framework on October 28, Armenian lawmakers from the ruling Civil Contract faction met with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires ad interim David Allen on November 4 to discuss the project's geopolitical and economic importance.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan stated that the next steps involve signing the shareholder agreement and the charter of the TRIPP Development Company. Mirzoyan noted that once these documents are signed, the government will be able to move on to practical work on the ground.
The initiative focuses on constructing railways, fiber-optic cables, and electricity transmission lines, with long-term plans for oil and gas pipelines. A central component of the plan is a railway network connecting northern and southern Armenia. This network is designed to facilitate trade between Armenia and Azerbaijan and provide Azerbaijan with rail access to Nakhchivan and other third countries through Armenian territory.
