While the tradition is viewed as an auspicious time for symbolic investments to bring prosperity, Uday Kotak, Founder and Non-Executive Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank, advised investors to focus on quality companies and fundamentals. Kotak identified five critical factors for the coming year: India's relative market valuations, the global AI boom, crude oil prices, interest rates, and risk management. He expects the overnight repo rate to increase by 50 to 75 basis points and suggested that a potential correction in global AI trades could drive capital back to India.
