Tesla Updates Model 3 Performance and Tech in North America

Tesla updated the Model 3 in the U.S., Mexico, and Puerto Rico with a larger touchscreen and increased horsepower without raising prices.

Tesla updated the Model 3 electric sedan for the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico, introducing hardware and performance upgrades across several trims. All variants now feature a 16-inch high-resolution central infotainment touchscreen with higher pixel density, replacing the previous 15.4-inch display.

The Model 3 Performance trim received a power increase to 528 horsepower, up from 510 horsepower, and an EPA-estimated range boost to 316 miles from 309 miles, while maintaining a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 2.9 seconds. The Performance variant also adds a black headliner. Additionally, the Model 3 Premium All-Wheel Drive improved its 0-60 mph acceleration to 3.8 seconds, down from 4.2 seconds, while its 346-mile range remains unchanged.

Tesla maintained existing pricing for these updates, with the base Rear-Wheel Drive model starting at $36,990 in the U.S. While these changes mirror updates previously released in China, the North American versions lack the light grey interior option and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability available in China, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. Canada was specifically excluded from this update cycle.
