President Mahama Launches Infrastructure Projects During Volta Region Tour

President John Dramani Mahama conducted a two-day Resetting Ghana tour of the Volta Region to launch infrastructure projects and engage citizens on economic recovery.

John Dramani Mahama conducted a two-day working visit to the Volta Region from July 16 to 17, 2026, as part of his nationwide Resetting Ghana Tour. The outreach program aimed to assess government stewardship and engage citizens on the national development agenda through infrastructure inspections and public forums.

The tour began in Juapong with a sod-cutting ceremony for 18 24-Hour Economy Model Markets, designed to provide one market for each district in the region. President Mahama also inspected construction on the Asikuma-Ho road under the Big Push Programme, visited a new assembly hall at Peki College of Education, and reviewed a Multi-Purpose Laboratory Complex at the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Sokode.

In Ho, the President announced plans to redevelop the Ho Sports Stadium and hosted an educational durbar on the Free Primary Health Care programme at the Ho Municipal Hospital. He further commissioned the Akatsi North District Police Headquarters at Ave-Dakpa. The visit concluded with a citizen engagement forum and town hall meeting at Ho Technical University to gather feedback from local chiefs and residents on governance and economic recovery policies.
