UAE and Kazakhstan Sign Trilateral Railway Agreement

UAE Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei led a delegation to Kazakhstan to sign a trilateral railway deal and expand energy and AI partnerships.

UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei led a delegation to Kazakhstan from September 30 to October 4, 2026, to expand bilateral cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and technology. During the visit, the UAE, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan signed a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding in Astana to cooperate on the Central Asia-South Asia railway project.

In Almaty, Al Mazrouei attended the 30th Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference and met with Vice Minister of Energy Yerlan Akbarov to discuss energy connectivity. The delegation also attended the inauguration of the Kazakhstan National AI Research University by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The visit concluded with a high-level meeting between Al Mazrouei and President Tokayev. The leaders discussed strategic partnerships focused on the development of the Middle Corridor, joint projects with AD Ports Group, and the implementation of high-performance computing infrastructure through Presight.
