YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Demands CBI Probe Into Teacher Recruitment

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy challenged the Andhra Pradesh government to a CBI probe into the 2025 Mega DSC teacher recruitment process.

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the 2025 Mega DSC teacher recruitment process. Speaking at a press conference in Tadepalli on August 20, 2026, Reddy alleged the process was "shady" and lacked checks and balances because a single official was entrusted with both the preparation of question papers and the conduct of examinations.

Reddy further cited irregularities regarding sports quota appointments and the appointment of an outsourcing employee who achieved a top rank. He challenged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister Nara Lokesh to authorize CBI investigations into both the 2025 DSC and the 2018 Group-I examination, the latter of which Reddy defended as transparent. The YSRCP has already sent letters to the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister requesting the inquiry, while party members staged protests at the Legislative Council premises on August 17.

Education Minister Nara Lokesh rejected the allegations, maintaining that the recruitment process was handled correctly. Lokesh dismissed Reddy's claims by asserting that the former chief minister lacks a basic understanding of the differences between the APPSC and DSC systems and noted that Reddy failed to conduct any DSC recruitment during his own tenure.
