India Financial Services Deals Surge 129% in Q3 2026
India's financial services sector saw deal values jump to $7.3 billion in Q3 2026, driven by major public offerings and a Bank of America investment.
India's financial services sector experienced a significant surge in activity during the third quarter of 2026, recording 67 deals with a total value of $7.3 billion. This represents a 129% increase in deal value compared to the previous quarter, according to a report from Grant Thornton Bharat.
The growth was largely propelled by public-market fundraising, which raised approximately $4.3 billion. Key contributions included initial public offerings from the National Stock Exchange, which raised $2.4 billion, and SBI Funds Management, which raised $1 billion. In the private sector, Bank of America Corporation invested $1.9 billion to acquire a 50% stake in Jio Credit Limited.
Despite the overall increase in value, private equity and venture capital values declined by 44% quarter-on-quarter. While fintech companies led in total deal volume with 30 transactions, the nature of investment is shifting. Vivek Iyer of Grant Thornton Bharat noted that the sector is moving toward a phase where regulatory resilience and sustainable growth are more critical for attracting capital than rapid scaling.
