Philippines LPG Prices Set to Rise in September
Regasco President Arnel Ty projects LPG prices will increase by P2 to P3 per kilogram due to higher shipping costs and peso depreciation.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices in the Philippines are projected to increase by P2 to P3 per kilogram in September. This adjustment represents a P22 to P33 rise for a standard 11-kilo cylinder.
Arnel Ty, president of Regasco, attributed the expected hike to rising shipping costs and the depreciation of the Philippine peso, which surpassed the P62-per-dollar level on August 27. The Department of Energy is expected to announce final price adjustments while the country remains under a state of national energy emergency.
In contrast to the LPG trend, pump prices for gasoline, diesel, and kerosene are decreasing. Seaoil is reducing diesel and kerosene prices by P3.83 and P3.84 per liter, while Shell is cutting diesel and kerosene by P3.80 per liter. Global crude prices remain elevated, driven by Middle East uncertainties following a United States attack on Iran.
