Mexico Consumer Prices Rise 3.45% Through September
Mexico's annual consumer prices rose 3.45% in the year through September, accelerating from August but remaining within the central bank's target range.
The National Institute of Statistics and Geography reported that Mexico's annual consumer prices rose 3.45% in the year through September. This figure marks an acceleration from the 3.26% annual increase recorded in August, although the result fell slightly below the 3.47% increase forecast by economists.
On a monthly basis, non-seasonally adjusted consumer prices increased 0.42% in September, more than doubling the 0.20% rise seen in August. The core inflation index, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, rose 0.20% in September and 3.75% annually.
Both the headline and core annual inflation rates remain within the target range of 3% plus or minus one percentage point established by the Bank of Mexico.
