Festus Keyamo Says ADC Remains Eligible for 2027 Elections
Minister Festus Keyamo clarified that the African Democratic Congress will remain on the 2027 ballot despite a court ruling nullifying its David Mark-led leadership.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo stated that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will participate in the 2027 general elections despite a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja. The court nullified the party's leadership under David Mark and invalidated the faction's decisions, including the presidential primary that named former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as the candidate.
Keyamo clarified that while the party itself remains eligible, candidates nominated by the Mark-led faction, including Atiku Abubakar, may be excluded from the ballot depending on the final decision of the Supreme Court. He dismissed claims that the party would be entirely absent from the elections as misinformation.
Atiku Abubakar and the ADC have rejected the Federal High Court's judgment and announced plans to challenge the ruling at the Court of Appeal.
