Dublin Airport Records Busiest Month in History

Dublin Airport saw record passenger volumes in July 2026, with nearly 3.84 million travelers passing through the facility.

Dublin Airport recorded its busiest month in history in July 2026, with 3,839,635 passengers traveling through the facility. This figure represents a 2.3 percent increase over July 2025 and marks the 16th consecutive month of passenger growth. For the first seven months of 2026, total passenger numbers reached nearly 22 million, a 5.2 percent year-on-year increase.

Gary McLean, managing director of Dublin Airport, attributed the surge to the peak summer holiday season, the start of Ireland's presidency of the Council of the European Union, and travelers using US Preclearance facilities for the FIFA World Cup in North America. McLean noted that the high level of traffic has become the norm during peak summer periods.

Despite the record volumes, airport operators reported smooth operations, with 93 percent of departing passengers clearing security in under 20 minutes. To accommodate future growth, a bill lifting the airport's 32 million annual passenger cap was recently signed into law.
