IndiGo Secures Record Engine and Avionics Deals at Farnborough

At the Farnborough air show on July 20, 2026, IndiGo announced two massive procurement deals to facilitate its expansion into a global airline. The carrier signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CFM International to purchase over 1,000 LEAP-1A engines for 510 Airbus A320neo family aircraft. Valued at over $14.5 billion on a list cost basis, this represents the largest single order in the history of LEAP engines. The agreement includes a long-term material services agreement and support for establishing an engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility in India.

Simultaneously, the airline selected Honeywell Aerospace to provide avionics and power systems for 810 new Airbus A320neo family aircraft. This deal, the largest new-aircraft-selectable equipment win for Honeywell Aerospace, includes flight management systems, traffic collision avoidance systems, advanced weather radar, and 131-9A auxiliary power units. The partnership also encompasses a comprehensive aftermarket support program.

These strategic investments follow the separation of Honeywell Aerospace from its parent company in June 2026. The combined deals aim to enhance fleet resilience and operational efficiency as the airline works toward doubling its fleet size by 2030.
