Washington Voters Begin Casting Ballots for November 3 Election
Washington registered voters have started casting ballots for a general election featuring congressional seats, state legislative races, and three statewide initiatives.
Registered voters in Washington have begun casting ballots for the November 3 general election. The contest includes all 10 congressional seats, all 98 state House seats, and 24 state Senate seats. Voters are also filling five of nine state Supreme Court seats and deciding on three statewide initiatives regarding a high-earner income tax, parental rights for public school students, and transgender students' participation in school sports.
National attention is centered on the 3rd Congressional District race, while the 4th District seat is open following the retirement of Republican U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse. Due to U.S. Postal Service rule changes that may impact postmark dates, election officials are urging voters to utilize one of 61 voting centers or 594 drop boxes.
In Snohomish County, the Snohomish County Auditor addressed a printing error involving a misspelling of the word "General" on return envelopes. The auditor clarified that "this is a printing error only" and that the typo does not affect how ballots are processed or how signatures are verified, confirming that voters can complete and return their ballots as usual.
