Aliyev Ratifies Economic Cooperation Agreement With Turkmenistan
President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree ratifying an economic cooperation agreement between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan to deepen bilateral trade and development.
President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on August 21, 2026, ratifying an agreement to develop and deepen economic cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. The agreement, which was originally signed in Baku on June 22, 2026, establishes the primary directions for bilateral economic growth.
Under the terms of the decree, the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan is responsible for implementing the provisions of the agreement once it officially enters into force. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan will notify the Government of Turkmenistan that all necessary internal ratification procedures have been completed to activate the pact.
