India's Ethanol Supplies Reach 7.17 Billion Litres by June 2026
The All India Distillers' Association reports that India supplied 7.17 billion litres of ethanol by June 2026, meeting 68% of contracted volumes.
The All India Distillers' Association reported that India's ethanol blending program reached cumulative supplies of 717 crore (7.17 billion) litres by June 2026 for the 2025-26 Ethanol Supply Year. This volume represents 68% of the total 1,048 crore (10.48 billion) litres contracted for the period.
Production was driven by a diversified mix of feedstocks, with grain-based ethanol accounting for nearly 67% of total supplies. Maize served as the primary feedstock, supplemented by sugarcane juice, B-heavy molasses, and 177 crore (1.77 billion) litres sourced from surplus Food Corporation of India grains.
Association President Vijendra Singh stated that this diversification reduces reliance on any single crop and strengthens national energy security. He called for additional policy support for Flex-Fuel Vehicles and higher ethanol blends to effectively utilize the industry's expanded production capacity as the country progresses beyond the E20 milestone.
