St. Lucia Demands U.S. Data on Caribbean Boat Strikes
Prime Minister Philip Pierre says the United States has provided no information regarding a February 2026 anti-narcotic operation that killed at least six people.
At least six people died in February 2026 during U.S. boat strikes in Caribbean waters. The United States characterized the incident as part of an anti-narcotic operation, but provided few details regarding the casualties.
Philip Pierre, Prime Minister of St. Lucia, stated during a press conference that his government has requested information from the United States but received none. Because of this lack of data, St. Lucia continues to treat the incident as a missing persons case. The deaths include two St. Lucian nationals, and Pierre expressed concern over the loss of life at sea.
In Trinidad and Tobago, Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar noted that local law enforcement has found no evidence that any citizens of Trinidad and Tobago were among those killed in the strikes.
