Israel and U.S. Mark October 7 Anniversary at United Nations
Israeli survivors and diplomats joined U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz at the United Nations to mark the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks.
The Israeli mission to the United Nations hosted an event on Tuesday to mark the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks. Former hostage Eliya Cohen, who spent 505 days in captivity in Gaza, and Nova festival survivor Ziv Abud shared their experiences of trauma and resilience. Cohen told attendees "I won" in reference to his former Hamas captors.
Psychologist Phil McGraw moderated the discussion, focusing on the ongoing psychological impact of the massacre. Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon stated that while Hamas wounded Israel, they did not break the nation.
U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz praised Cohen for refusing to participate in Hamas propaganda videos during his captivity. Waltz asserted that the October 7 attacks have "irreversibly" backfired on Iran and its terrorist proxies, adding that the terrorists are now on their "back foot."
