Israeli Colonists Seize EU-Funded Park in West Bank

Israeli colonists seized a public park on the outskirts of Kafr Ni'ma village, west of Ramallah, on Sunday. The group installed an iron gate at the entrance and raised the Israeli flag, blocking residents from accessing the recreational space and adjacent agricultural land.

Raafat Khalifa, head of the Kafr Ni'ma village council, reported that the village received no prior notification of the seizure. He described the incident as part of a broader colonization campaign, noting that colonists had previously seized a local water spring to create a pool and recreational site.

The park covers approximately 2.5 dunams and is located in Area B under the Oslo Accords. The facility was funded by the European Union through the Palestinian Local Authorities Union.
