SpaceX Launches Orbital AI Data Centers and Neocloud Services

Space Exploration Technologies Corp. is diversifying its business model by deploying orbital AI data centers and a neocloud service that rents computing power from its Colossus facilities. The company has secured a three-year agreement with Alphabet Inc. for compute capacity expected to generate $30 billion by 2029, while Anthropic pays approximately $15 billion annually for access to the Colossus 1 data center.

Financial analysts at Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management project that AI-driven revenue for the company could increase 100-fold to $322 billion by 2030. These efforts run alongside the scaling of the Starlink satellite internet business, which currently provides 61% of total revenue, and the integration of the Starship rocket to lower launch costs.

Despite these growth prospects, the company faces significant financial pressure from rising capital expenditures. Spending rose 308% to $26.5 billion in the first half of 2026, with more than 82% of those funds dedicated to AI infrastructure.
