Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Reserves Rise to 31.20 Billion Dollars
Bangladesh Bank reports net foreign exchange reserves rose to 31.20 billion dollars by September 2026, covering nearly six months of import bills.
The Bangladesh Bank reported that the country's net foreign exchange reserves rose to 31.20 billion U.S. dollars by the end of September 2026. Gross reserves reached 36.01 billion dollars during the same period.
Central bank officials stated that these reserves are sufficient to cover nearly six months of import bills. This increase marks a recovery from a period of significant decline, where reserves dropped to approximately 20-21 billion dollars by the end of 2024. This downturn followed a peak of 48 billion dollars in August 2021, which officials attributed to domestic and external macroeconomic headwinds.
