Advent International Invests Rs 3,150 Crore in Yatharth Hospitals

Advent International agreed to invest Rs 3,150 crore for a 24.9% minority stake in Yatharth Hospitals to accelerate the provider's expansion across India.

U.S.-based private equity firm Advent International entered into a definitive agreement on September 17, 2026, to invest Rs 3,150 crore (approximately $328.53 million) in Yatharth Hospital and Trauma Care Services Ltd. The primary capital infusion grants Advent International a 24.9% minority stake in the healthcare provider, while the founding Tyagi family remains the largest shareholder.

The investment follows a board meeting where Yatharth Hospitals discussed fundraising and growth strategies to expand its capacity. The company currently operates nine multi-speciality hospitals in North India with 2,800 beds and a planned capacity of 3,250 beds. Long-term goals include reaching 5,000 beds within three years through brownfield expansion in Noida and Noida Extension, adding 250 beds in Gurugram, and pursuing acquisitions in capital cities for fiscal year 2027.

Market reaction was immediate, with Yatharth Hospital shares hitting a record high of Rs 1,067 on the BSE, rallying as much as 8.6% amid heavy trading volume. This deal aligns with a broader trend of private equity interest in Indian healthcare, following similar moves by KKR, Blackstone, and BPEA EQT.
