One Flag Forward Relay Marks 25th Anniversary of 9/11

One Flag Forward concluded a five-day relay run in Washington, D.C. on Thursday to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The event began on September 12 at the Intrepid Museum in New York City, where participants carried a single American flag 250 miles to the National Mall.

The relay honored the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001. Some participants maintained a rigorous pace, running up to 50 miles per day throughout the journey.

Donations collected during the event are split equally between two nonprofits that serve the military-connected community: Wear Blue: run to remember and Team Red, White & Blue.
