Dangote Refinery Raises Petrol Gantry Price to N1,200

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE increased the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit from N1,185 to N1,200 per litre on August 26, 2026. The refinery also raised the coastal price from N1,562,265 to N1,582,380 per metric tonne.

This N15 per litre increase follows a previous price hike on August 21, 2026, which saw rates rise from N1,165 to N1,185. To implement the change, the refinery directed customers to return all Authorisation to Collect documents for repricing to receive new volume contracts for loading resumption.

The price adjustments occur despite a decline in international crude oil prices for West Texas Intermediate, Brent, and Murban crude. Current market volatility is attributed to investor reactions to US sanctions against Iran. Market analysts suggest these refinery hikes may push average pump prices to N1,250 per litre as marketers factor in downstream costs.
