Siemens Energy Prepares Sale of Steam Turbine Business

Siemens Energy AG is seeking to sell a majority stake in its steam turbine division, potentially valuing the business at over 10 billion euros.

Siemens Energy AG is preparing to sell a majority stake in its Transformation of Industry division, the business unit responsible for producing steam turbines, generators, and compressors. The company has engaged Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to advise on the divestment process.

The business reported approximately 5.7 billion euros in revenue during the last fiscal year. Market estimates suggest the stake sale could value the division at more than 10 billion euros, or roughly 11.7 billion dollars. While several private equity firms, including CVC Capital Partners, EQT AB, Bain Capital, Brookfield, and KKR & Co., are identified as potential bidders, no buyout firms have committed to formal offers yet.

Siemens Energy is scheduled to hold a board meeting on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, to determine the next steps for the sale.
