Nvidia Revenue Forecast Triggers Semiconductor Stock Rally

Nvidia Corporation sparked a broad semiconductor rally after forecasting a 70% revenue increase for the next fiscal year to counter concerns over the AI boom.

Nvidia Corporation triggered a broad rally in semiconductor stocks on August 27, 2026, after issuing a rare long-term revenue projection forecasting a 70% increase for the next fiscal year. The announcement aimed to alleviate investor fears that the artificial intelligence boom was fading or that major customers, including OpenAI, were shifting toward in-house chip development. Nvidia shares rose 6.8%, adding approximately $295.7 billion in market value, while AI-linked stocks such as Intel, Micron, and Broadcom also gained.

Parallel to the GPU surge, the industry is experiencing renewed demand for CPUs to support agentic workloads and coordinate accelerators, with the server CPU market projected to reach $201 billion by 2030. Arm projects $15 billion in AGI CPU revenue by 2031.

Competition in the x86 client CPU market is intensifying as Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. secured a multi-year infrastructure partnership with Meta Platforms, Inc. to deploy Venice and Verano CPUs. This move positions the company to compete more aggressively against Intel Corporation, which recently launched its Xeon 6+ processor family for data centers and enterprise workloads. Meta Platforms, Inc. has expanded its data center deals with both Nvidia and AMD to secure necessary CPUs and GPUs.
