Saudi Coalition Intercepts Houthi Missile and Drone Attacks
The Saudi-led coalition intercepted a ballistic missile and a drone on Thursday as Houthi militants claimed a separate attack on King Fahd International Airport.
The Saudi-led coalition intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by Yemen's Houthi militia toward the Medina region on Thursday. Coalition spokesman Turki al-Malki announced the interception shortly after the Saudi civil defence agency issued a danger warning for the area near the strategic port of Yanbu, though the connection between the two events remains unclear.
In a separate operation, the coalition intercepted and destroyed a drone over Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. While the coalition did not specify the drone's origin, the Houthi movement later claimed it had targeted King Fahd International Airport in Dammam with a drone attack, asserting the operation disrupted air traffic.
Simultaneously, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree accused Saudi Arabia of conducting 61 airstrikes across Yemen using F-15 and Typhoon jets. Saree claimed these strikes targeted civilian sites in Sanaa and several other provinces, including Hodeidah and Marib, resulting in dozens of casualties.
