Bromford Flagship LiveWest Approved for 180 Homes in Gloucester

Bromford Flagship LiveWest received approval to build 180 sustainable homes at The Port Way development in Matson, Gloucester, starting this summer.

Bromford Flagship LiveWest received approval to construct 180 new homes at The Port Way development off Winnycroft Lane in Matson, Gloucester. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer, featuring a mix of 77 social rent properties, 59 shared ownership homes, and 44 open-market properties. The units will range from one-bedroom flats to five-bedroom family homes, with five specifically designed for wheelchair users.

The project incorporates sustainability measures, including air source heat pumps and solar panels. Additionally, the development will preserve a scheduled monument containing the remains of a medieval moated manor, integrating it into an open meadow with information boards for public visitors.

Gloucester City Council partnered with the housing provider to address the city's growing demand for affordable housing. Officials described the project as an important investment for the local community and a means of providing homes for people who have waited years for affordable options.
