No Kings Coalition Organizes Nationwide Early Voting Day

The No Kings coalition is organizing thousands of events across all 50 states on October 17 to drive record early voting for November midterms.

The No Kings coalition, a progressive movement formed during Donald Trump's second term, is organizing thousands of events across all 50 U.S. states and Washington D.C. on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The initiative aims to make the day the largest single day of early voting in U.S. history to mitigate potential election sabotage, voter intimidation, and technical disruptions ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.

Events include rallies, concerts, and dog walks, with a flagship event in Atlanta hosted by the Black Voters Matter Fund to address redistricting and the dilution of Black voting power. In Connecticut, dozens of rallies are scheduled in cities including Hartford, New London, Stratford, and Middletown. Some participants plan to dress in black to honor victims of Immigration and Customs Enforcement or engage in Cacerolazo by banging pots and pans.

Organizers are recruiting poll monitors and election defenders to protect results and provide resources, such as QR codes to official voting websites, to help citizens resolve registration issues. The movement, which began in June 2025, frames these actions as a response to concerns over an authoritarian takeover by the Trump administration.
